6 SEO Chrome Extensions You Should Be Using to Make Your Life Easier

Last Updated on January 10, 2019 by admin

All of us are looking for SEO tools that can help us quickly gather information and insights about a client’s website. However, this usually means going to a certain website and logging in to use that tool, copying and pasting a URL, and searching for the data you want to find. This doesn’t take a whole lot of time but can sometimes be annoying when clicking from tab to tab in your browser. Imagine if you could just click one button at the top of your browser and find exactly what you want right away. Whether you are looking for new keyword ideas, information on a site’s backlinks, domain trust flow, or searching for broken links. There are many browser extensions that can help you quickly find the information you are looking for and make your day run more smoothly. Below is a list of my favorite extensions I use almost daily and why I find them helpful when running through SEO tasks.

Majestic Backlink Analyzer

The Majestic Backlink Analyzer Chrome extension allows you to immediately see a summary of metrics for a website’s domain. In the summary tab, it includes the trust flow and citation flow of the website’s domain, URL, and subdomain. It also includes the number of backlinks. This extension is great if you quickly need to see the main metrics for a domain. It is also handy for link prospecting to determine whether it is worth reaching out for a link or not.

Keywords Everywhere

Probably one of my favorite tools is the Keywords Everywhere tool. This is a keyword research tool that automatically shows you the search volume for a keyword when you search for it in Google. The tool also displays additional keywords at the bottom of the search results for other keyword suggestions. Additionally, it will display the search volume for queries in Google Search Console. This is really helpful when looking for new keywords and their search volumes quickly instead of going to Keyword Planner. CPC and competition are also listed. However, sometimes this tool can get a little annoying, but there is an easy fix. Just click on the extension and switch the tab from on to off and everything will look normal again. Check My Links

This is the perfect tool for checking links on your own website or checking link quality on another site. Check My Links is a link checker that scans all the links on a webpage and highlights them in different colors for ones that are working, invalid and warnings. This extension is helpful for many cases, but especially if you are editing a webpage or blog post that has a lot of links and you quickly want to figure out which ones are working. It can also be helpful for link building purposes. If you find a broken link, it gives you an excuse to reach out to the website and let them know about the broken link and also pitch for your own website.

Bulk URL Opener

This extension allows you to copy and paste a bulk load of URLs and open them all at the same time into different tabs. This is extremely helpful for many purposes, especially to uncover and weed out any bad links. I like to use this tool when I am looking at a website’s backlinks and trying to decide which bad links to disavow. Bulk URL Opener uploads all the websites within seconds, so it saves you a lot of time.

Domain Hunter Plus

Now I might be biased with this extension because it was developed by Netvantage and our development partners, Nicholas Creative, but I have to include it in this list. If you are searching for great domains this is an extension that can help save you a lot of time while domain hunting. It works similar to Check My Links where it crawls the entire webpage for dead links, but it also will show which dead links are available or taken and available domain names. Domain Hunter Plus (DHP) will also display information from SEOmoz that you can click on that will direct you to Open Site Explore for a full list of metrics. If you find a domain you want, you can go directly to GoDaddy and register them.

Grammarly

With Google continuing to pay more attention to quality and long-form content, it can be helpful to have another set of eyes looking at your content – or an extension in this case. Grammarly is a tool that is pretty good at catching all your grammar and spelling mistakes. In my opinion, it catches more mistakes that Microsoft Word nowadays. It is great to use when implementing site edits because it will underline in red any mistakes you have and suggestions to fix them. However, it doesn’t always catch everything, so it is always good to still look over your own work one last time before making it live on the web.

With so many SEO extensions available, it is hard to narrow down which ones work the best. The above six are my tried and true that I rely on almost daily. Let me know in the comments what your favorite one is and why I should be using it.
